From Pastor’s Desk:

I did not expect it as I left Albany Airport.  But so much healing and reconciliation were waiting for me.  All my aunts

and uncles were waiting to extend their love and support for me as I was visiting Korea for my mother’s burial.

I got reconnected with most of my cousins (I have 26 of them), and all my aunts and uncles were present in every

step of preparation of the burial.  I spent so much time with my cousins and old friends after the burial service that my

schedule was packed until the last night before my return flight.  Many of them whom I knew as teenagers,  are now

parents of school age children.  I met many of the children, and they were showing their love for their new uncle from the US.

Of course, Jojo is glad to have more cousins in Korea!  And we are looking forward to visiting them and also having them

visit us over here.

I did not expect it as I left Albany Airport.  But a huge surprise was waiting for me.  One night as I was having dinner with

my third aunt and her family (5 of my cousins and their children), one of my cousins wanted to see where I live.  So we

went onto the Internet and saw my house with Google Earth, which allows us to see the satellite view of any place on

the earth.  I found New York State, Hudson Falls, and East LaClaire Street.  I found my house and zoomed in to show

them where I live.  Then I found some strange activities in my house.  There was a big vehicle, looking like a truck, in

the drive way and a huge pile of white stuff in the backyard.  All my relatives were excited to see where I live, but they

were wondering, “What in the world is going on in your house?”  And that was exactly what I was wondering too.

And boy, what a surprise that was waiting for me!  The permanent structural change of my house happened while

I was away, and my wife did not tell me about it!  In addition, I was poured upon with an undeserved gift from my

Bay Road church family.

I did not expect it as I left Albany Airport.  But unceasing prayers and care have been showering me and my family.

As a pastor, my profession is to be a caregiver.  In all kinds of situations, I am called to give pastoral care for the

people of God’s household.  And because of my profession, it often is hard for me to receive cares.  I mean, I am

uncomfortable receiving cares.  That is why I had a long conversation (?!) with Esther regarding the underserved

gift we received from our church family.

In the past few weeks, many blessings I did not expect happened to me, and now I am wondering what new things

and new blessings I did not expect God would bring to my family here at Bay Road Church.  For whatever they

might be, I desire to be a part of God’s blessing for this body of Christ.

Session News

November Session News

The session will be meeting on November 6, 2007 at 6:30pm.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion was served on October 7, 2007. Pastor Sung Hee Lee

and Elder Debbie Collin brought communion to Carolynn Raven, her father Bill Siebert and

other members of her family at the Glens Falls Hospital. Frankie Waite received communion

at the Stanton Nursing Home; and Ruth Smith received it in her home in Lake George.

A BIG Thank You to all who generously contributed money and time for Pastor Sung and his

family for the Pastor Appreciation Month gift.  He received a $500.00 Visa gift card before

leaving for Korea. His home  also received a new deck and door (many thanks to all the

hard workers who made that possible) plus there was enough leftover to help defray some

of the expenses Sung has accrued with his Mom’s passing. He and his family were overwhelmed

by the out pouring. Thank you to each and everyone.

Trustee’s Newsletter

November 2007

The Trustees assisted the Beautification committee with some tasks including

removing a great deal of obsolete material from the basement.  Several radiator covers

were put back together and one set was painted. Minor repairs were made to the

heating system when a relay failed and the sanctuary was rather cool on a Sunday

morning.  The Fall cleanup of the property scheduled for October 27th was rained out

and will be re-scheduled for Saturday, November 10th at 9:00 A.M. Please mark your

calendars and bring a rake and/or a tarp so many hands allow us to finish in less than

two hours, as last year.

             CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible
like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or
pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to our kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where IS my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have
to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus
already paid the bill. And no dropped calls!

      Something to think about...
