OPEN DOOR MINISTRY
Wed., August 13 at 4:30 pm
The Open Door Ministry is located on South Street in Glens Falls. BRC serves the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The sign up sheet is posted in Anderson Hall if you are interested in serving. Remember to bring 3 gallons of milk (one each).
Men's Ministry
The men's ministry has been going well with between 8 and 15 men from our church as well as other area churches. We meet every other Saturday morning for a stimulation Bible study and discussion under the able leadership of Ed Goddard. Each study "stands alone" so if anyone misses a meeting, he will not feel the need to catch up. Generally we have a light breakfast of bagels, juice and coffee with an occasional full breakfast.
In September, a group of men were blessed by attending the Promise Keepers event on Long Island.
This is a growing ministry in which all who attend seem to be encouraged by the fellowship as well as the study.
Women's Association
Bible Studies, crafts, and fellowship are some of the different things throughout the year that the Women’s Association participated in at Bay Road Church.

Van Ministry
The Van Ministry is doing very well. Our number of pickups has increased this year with an average of 4 riders every Sunday. Beyond picking individuals up for church, there is an additional impact which the van gives our church, by having the van in the community it increases awareness of the existence of our church to those who are un-churched. Concerning the van itself, it is in fine working order. We have had to perform some repairs to the van this year, but given the age that is to be expected. In the fall we had to replace the battery, and we needed to have some work done on the sliding door. In a short time we will need to have the lift looked at in order to have it repaired, however, it is nothing serious. I would like to open the invitation again to individuals to volunteer to drive the van. As I have said in the past this does not involve a large commitment, as you will only be needed on the occasion that both Dennis and myself are out of town. In the past it was easy enough for the pickups to be done by car when one of us was not available. However, now that we have a greater number of riders we need a few volunteers that can learn about the van and can be taught the route. If you are interested in assisting in this ministry please talk to me on Sunday at church or contact me at home.
In Christ,
Louis Russell
Usher’s Ministry
I would like to begin thanking our current team of ushers for their work and dedication this past year. The Ushers ministry is doing quite well at this time. We are slightly short handed at this time due to our snowbirds having left for the winter. This is not a huge problem since we no longer pass the collection plate. The offering box has allowed us to move back to 1 team of ushers from the two needed in order to pass the plates. The basic responsibility of the ushers are to greet the people as they enter the sanctuary while handing them a bulletin, to bring the offering, conduct a head count of our weekly attendance, and to assist in directing the flow of congregants during communion. If anyone is interested in joining the ushers in this vital act of service and worship please contact me, either at church on Sunday or call me at home.
In Christ,
Louis Russell
