From Pastor’s desk:For this month’s newsletter, I want to talk about 4 weeks of the past and 4 weeks of the future. For past 4 weeks, I enjoyed my fellowship with youth people of Bay Road family. We had serious talks about our faith; had fun playing games, bowling and going to movie; and we went to the United Nations Presbyterian Office and visited the Brooklyn Tabernacle for Lord’s Day worship service. I do not know about the youths, but I enjoyed getting to know them more and spending time with them. And I want to thank all of you who supported this fellowship. I want to thank Colleen, Sue, Carol, John and all the elders for preparing wonderful dinners. And I want to thank George and Bob for volunteering to be chaperons. Also, I want to thank everybody who remembered this fellowship in your prayers. I am looking forward to witnessing more of God’s presence and guidance for our young people as times goes by. For next 4 weeks, I will be in Maxwell Air Force Base down in Montgomery, AL getting my Commissioned Officer’s Training. I was waiting and waiting for the order from Washington DC without knowing for sure when I would be called to attend COT, and I was finally ordered to attend COT last week. Because I am “fresh from the street”, I am a bit nervous about this training. The COT website is pretty scary. It looks like a boot camp. The good news is that I will be 20 lbs thinner after the COT. As a pastor in a small congregation, this type of ministry is impossible without the support of church family. I truly appreciate the support of my Bay Road family for my ministry to serve young men and women in the Air Force as Christ’s presence. However, even with the full support of the church, any pastor might be worried about the pastoral situation of his/her church while at training, yet I am not worried because I have my trust in God and I have high respect for the leadership of the Elders, not to mention we have wonderful preachers lined up to share their words with us. Esther will be also available for pastoral care in case of emergency, and Bay Road family will be constantly remembered in my prayer throughout my COT. As I prepare to leave, I remember each and everyone of you in my prayers. I want to thank you in advance for all of your thoughts and prayers while I ’m away, and I am looking forward to coming back refreshed and renewed to continue my ministry here at Bay Road with my wonderful family in Christ.
June News from the Session
The Sacrament of Holy Communion was served on May 6, 2007. Pauline Sexton received communion at her home on Byrne Ave. in Glens Falls and Bill and Florence Seibert, in their home at Pinion Pine, Queensbury, served by Elders Carol Bayle and Greg Mc Dowell.
The session accepts the application and endorses Elder Laura Mitchell as Inquirer for ordained ministry as a minister. Laura will begin her studies in July at Princeton Seminary. Debbie Collin and Chris Henneke volunteered to serve as Laura Mitchell’s liaison. Please join the session wishing her many blessings on her studies. Laura and Phill will continue to need our prayers as they transition into this new adventure. Many Blessings upon you both.
The session will be taking a recess for the months of June and July. We have a tentative date set for August if deemed necessary. If you have an item you’d like to have the session consider please e-mail me (Debbie Collin) at dkcollin@adelphia.net or leave me a note in my mail box in the office.
Q: Do you as a congregation agree to teach this child about Jesus? A: We do!
There is still a great need for volunteers to step forward in our church. Our Sunday school has been in need all year long for more teachers. We have made this plea over and over and yet the response is zero. Each time we baptize a child in our church we agree as a congregation that we will help to teach our children and our teens about the precious relationship with Christ. Please search in your hearts and pray as where you can help to serve. Maybe it is to be a substitute to give our regular teachers a break. Or maybe you prefer to help out in the summer? Perhaps you have a lesson which is burning in you to share with our pre-teens and teens. Maybe you just want to open up your home for a movie and popcorn or a picnic? Or just provide snacks on Sunday? Or just ask what can I do? Search you hearts and let us know. If this sounds like a desperate plea it is! We have asked all year long. The workers are weary. Thank you for considering this.
Happy July and August. Blessings upon all the plans and the unplanned times ahead of you for this summer season. _________________________________________________________________________________ __DEACON’S CORNER

SAVE THE DATE! _______________________________________________________________ CHUCKLE CORNER KIDS IN CHURCH... My wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to our six- year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," she replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," my wife said. Our daughter bowed her head and said: "Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
Timmy had been misbehaving and was sent to his room. After a while he emerged and informed his mother that he had thought it over and then said a prayer. "Fine", said the pleased mother. "If you ask God to help you not misbehave, He will help you." "Oh, I didn't ask Him to help me not misbehave," said Timmy. "I asked Him to help you put up with me."
The church was celebrating Communion. During the "children's sermon", the minister was talking about Communion and what it is all about. "The Bible talks of Holy Communion being a 'joyful feast'. What does that mean? Well, 'joyful' means happy, right? And a feast is a meal. So a 'joyful feast' is a happy meal. And what are the three things we need for a happy meal?" A little boy put up his hand and said, "Hamburger, fries, and a regular soft drink?" ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Greeters 3 N/A 10 N/A 17 N/A 24 N/A
